Default & custom fields SMS

TABLE OF CONTENTS

It is possible, as with emails, to add and create custom fields in SMS.

Step1: Default fields

To add variables to the default fields, they can be added from the SMS menu -> SMS Campaigns -> Add.

In the next screen, we can create the SMS newsletter by adding the internal name, sender name and message.

At the bottom right there is an "add variable" button. Clicking on this button will open a drop-down menu with the default fields (unsubscribe link, email, SMS phone, name, etc.).

Click on the variable that we want to introduce in the SMS content and it will be automatically added to the message content.

Step2: Custom fields

You can also create custom fields from the Subscribers -> Custom Fields -> Add menu.

By clicking on Add you can create the custom field you need, with the following fields:

  • Field type: Allows you to create fields of type: Text, Textarea, Number, Select, Select (múltiple), Checkbox, Radio buttons and Date.
  • Label: The internal name for the custom field
  • Tag name: This is the unique tag name that will be used for the custom field variable. This name must not contain spaces and must be made up of letters and numbers.
  • Required: This is a checkbox that is useful in subscription forms, requiring the subscriber to enter a value in the field in order to complete the subscription. Whether the field is mandatory depends largely on the browser used to fill out the subscription form.
  • Default value: If desired, the field can have a fixed initial value that is always taken in case a value is not indicated manually.

Once the custom field has been created, in the SMS campaign creation, we click on the “Add variable” button and if we go down the drop-down menu, a section called “Subscriber custom fields” will appear and our created variables will appear there:

We only need to click on the variable we want to automatically add it to our SMS campaign.
